I began painting this after reviewing older references from a model Ive used in the past . I fell love with the arms and hand postion , They were so expressive and alone told a story . I found another few images  where his expression on his face  fit the emotion I wanted to convey  .  I have a very brief illustrative background or maybe i was placed in Illustration because i liked to tell a story  and I was not happy without a story of some sort . After a month of painting the model and working on the concept ( unusual to not have one from the start )  a light bulb went off .  I  love the illusion of trompe Loeil and involving the viewer by using it . And after wrapping enough painting I thought wht if the paper was torn from a prepacked painting . The surprise of the model being exposed  but more then this the inspiration for a collection that will play with this concept and the idea of exposure and protection and the stripping of those protections .
